December 1, 2025: Be sure to see our updates on the end of the Shoes & Hope chapter after nearly 11 years.
What is Shoes & Hope?
Founded in March 2015, Shoes & Hope is a d/b/a of Affiliated International Ministries, a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization, dissolving on December 31, 2025.
Vision
Shoes & Hope was born of Passion, Purpose, & Partnership. Our vision is a world with healthy, self-sustaining communities with access to clean water and life’s basic necessities (food and shelter).
Mission
Shoes & Hope is dedicated to working with communities in the developing world to address challenges including clean water and hygiene. By building lasting relationships in these communities and supporting community-initiated, sustainable development, we are able to come alongside, encouraging them to use their gifts, resources and abilities to contribute to their own progress.
To encourage local and global partnerships, empowering others to make the world a better place.
To bring an awareness to others so they understand what's going on outside of their own little world.
To create impact in our own communities as well as globally through strategic partnerships.
Why Shoes?
For the first 5 years of Shoes & Hope, shoes played an important role in our organization. Shoes represented awareness...a conversation starter, a way for us to share with you about the mission and our friends in the developing world. It was never really not about the shoes, and for a time, collecting shoes was a great way to diversify our project income. By using the disposable resource of gently used shoes, we were able to sell the shoes and use that money for our programs and impact. This model became unsustainable in July 2019.
Why Hope?
Everyone needs hope. Hope is the natural capacity to envision a better tomorrow; A firm assurance regarding things that are unclear and unknown. We offer hope through life’s most basic necessities.
Thank You for Supporting Shoes & Hope
Throughout the life of Shoes & Hope, we were able to operate with NO PAID STAFF and only volunteers. We were able to operate with very little overhead and mostly donated resources. THANK YOU to our generous supporters and event sponsors that helped us impact so many lives from 2015-2025.
